CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISE LINKED TO LONGEVITY

Many studies support and find that increasing physical activity after age 50 can add substantial years to one’s life.

Protection Against Disease- Cardiovascular exercise on a daily or almost-daily basis can help ward off illnesses from osteoporosis to diabetes and also help with symptoms of the normal aging process.  Regular cardio exercise causes a series of changes in your body.  You can expect lower blood pressure and an increase in ‘good’ cholesterol.  You’ll improve your muscle tone and strength.  In addition to improving you cardiac strength, exercise can reduce your risk for serious health problems, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, high-blood pressure, and certain types of cancer.

Cardiovascular exercise is also known to stimulate your body’s production of endorphins- hormones that relieve pain and boost your mood!
